Waiting For The Time

I've so many things to tell you
That I don't know where to start
So I guess I'll try explaining
What I'm feeling in my heart

I'm not the type of person
Who gets swept up off his feet
Nor the type of guy who chases
Evert pretty girl I meet

Long ago I had decided
I'd not fall in love again
For it always led to sorrow
And I could not take the pain

But the first time that I saw you
I felt something stir inside
And my heart just sort of melted
When I gazed into your eyes

The color of your hair
Is as the setting summer sun
And your smile shines as brightly
As a new day just begun

So how was I to stop myself
From falling into love
When you're as beautiful and kind
As any angel from above

Now there's not a night that passes
I don't find you in my dreams
Walking with me through the forest
On the banks of crystal streams

Nor, I'd say, is there an hour
That you've not been on my mind
And as a child waits for Christmas
I am waiting for the time

That once again I can be with you
Even if for just awhile
Bringing with you love and happiness
With every tender smile
