The Dreamer

I'm what you call a dreamer
I dream of days gone by
I dream of days that soon will come
And you may wonder why

Life is not an easy thing
It likes to fall apart, it seems
And when it gets me down a bit
It's then I start to dream

I dream of things both good and bad
And of things I'd like to be
And lately all I seem to dream about
Are you and me

I dream about your gorgeous eyes
The softness of your hair
The special way you smile at me
That lets me know you care

Daydreams fill my night times
And night dreams fill my days
And when I think about you
My mind is in a daze

And one day soon, I dream
We'll be together, you and me
And also, then, I dream
We'll be together endlessly

But now you are so far away
I miss you way too much
As I drift off toward peaceful sleep
I feel your tender touch

Off in to magic lands I go
More vivid is the dream
Within cloud castles in the sky
You are my fairy queen

But, all too soon, I must awake
Another listless day
And even though you're not here now
You're on my mind throughout the day
