How Time Flies

Six months ago was yesterday
Forever long ago
And time flies by as if it has
Someplace it has to go

How time flies when you're having fun
And yet we've only just begun
To live our lives and plan our schemes
To face our fears and reach for dreams

Some say time is just a way
Of putting things in sequence
Preventing things, effectively
From happening all at once

But in the case of you and I
Time has no relevance
It moves to quickly forward
And, to us, does not make sense

But if we watch our shattered dreams
And tears flow in to salty streams
We see our lives have just begun
And how time flies, when it is fun

I'll be gone and you'll be here
Waiting for about three years
But soon it will be you and I
There won't be any tears

I love you more than time will tell
Though I'll be on the run
And until I have to go
The time will fly, while we have fun

Time drifts through years, as life goes on
And though, for time, I will be gone
I'll be with you in heart and soul
And, in my love, I'll never go

I'll love you 'til forever
And the years that I am gone
It's your love I will remember
And through it, I'll carry on

Someday we will be married
And someday you'll have my son
And we'll both remember how time flies
When we are having fun
