The Sorrowstorm

The dark clouds hush the sunshine
As the shadows fade away
And the lightning flashes false dreams
Of a luminescent day

The emphatic sound of thunder
Roaring through the misty air
Makes every living creature stop
To ponder the storm with care

We fear not the hail of raindrops
For the rainbow pledges peace
And though teardrops fall from heaven
We've found even sorrows cease

When our sorrows have expired
And the dark clouds fade away
The exuberance of sunshine
Will once again distend our days
