The Strangest Dream

I had the strangest dream last night
That you and I had never fought
That you were still engaged to me
And wearing presents never bought

That you and I were still together
That we'd never broke apart
And it seemed, right then and there
You'd be forever in my heart

We were in the greenest field
Sitting by the clearest stream
The birds were singing beautifully
And, in your eyes, our love was seen

But just as we got in the church
The alarm clock had to ring
I never heard you say, "I do."
My bride, I'd never seen

Now that I'm awake, I see
That it was all a dream
And all the happiness I felt
was drown in Teardrop Stream

Now I wonder why I saw
Just what we might have been
Now I have to sit and cry
Just knowing you're with him

But, should I ever get the chance
To live the life that I have seen
It will become reality
Not something in my dreams

My love for you will never die
No matter what befalls me
I've proved that point again, and again
My love will last eternally
