There once was a boy who gave his heart
He knew that he loved her from the very start
He gave her all there was to give
He knew if he lost her, he'd never live
She loved him too, it was plain to see
And she promised her love for eternity
They swore that their love would never end
And besides being lovers, they were also friends
Time passed them by, as their endless love grew
If one of them was hurt, the other one knew
Then one day he said he used to love another girl
And when that was said, her head started to whirl
For the girl he used to like, now liked him
And his girlfriend felt like she just couldn't win
She said she felt threatened, and then with a sigh
All of a sudden, she started to cry
He knew he had hurt her, that he couldn't stand
But all he could do now was just hold her hand
It was then that he saw it was falling apart
He's guessed that he'd seen it from the very start
About a month later she picked up the phone
And dialed his number to call him at home
He knew it was over when she started to cry
It hurt him so bad when she just said, "Goodbye"
The very next day his mom went to her home
His mother was lucky, the girl was alone
His mom couldn't tell her, though she tried and tried
Then finally she said, "My son has just died"
His mother had said, with a sigh and some tears
"My son was alive for just fifteen years"
The girl broke down, and while she cried
His mother said, "He committed suicide"
Then, from inside her pocket, his mom pulled a letter
But didn't start reading 'til the girl felt better
The letter was addressed to his "ex-"girlfriend
It read, "I am sorry that my life must end"
She just sat and cried when his mother had left
She knew taking his life was the greatest of thefts
Then she said, "I'll be with you forever, my friend"
And five minutes later, her life came to an end
Their love will go on everlasting, forever
By request of their parents, they were buried together
I'm sorry to see their lives come to an end
I now say goodbye, with love, to my friends
